Campfire and hickory smoke from generous oak aging. Full-bodied and supple. Pair with grilled meats. Love this Cabernet Sauvignon from the Lodi wine region. Ironstone has consistency in their vintages and over delivers on their Cabernet Sauvignon. What a crown pleaser and a steel at this price.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: roast gamebird stuffed with olives and wild mushrooms, crown roast of pork, lamb casserole.

Reviews and Ratings

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This full bodied red wine from Lodi, California is a sure crowd pleaser. Lots of delightful juicy flavors of dark berry fruit and campfire smoke. Perfect with grilled meats on the BBQ.
Wineboy rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

ample fruit with herbs and a sweet plummy flavour. Oak arrives late on the palate along with a walnut flavour.
Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted August 1, 2018. Colour deep ruby. Legs medium. Aromas and flavours of black currant, ripe blackberry, cedar spice, plum spice jam. Taste dry, medium body, dark fruit, bitter chocolate, pepper and spice, soft tannin, mouthwatering, finish medium plus with dry chocolate. This is a very easy drinking wine, would pair nice with BBQ meats. I had a dark chicken spaghetti with mushrooms good match.
Ironstone is a full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon from the Lodi wine region with lots of juicy flavours of dark berry fruit and campfire smoke. This Cab Sauv. is a crown pleaser and a perfect pairing to all meats grilled. - Community Wine Reviews
