Love this smoky Cabernet Sauvignon from the Lodi. Full-bodied and supple with lots of juicy dark berry fruit, ripe black currant, vanilla and dark chocolate flavour on the palate. A great value, California Cab under $20.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: roast gamebird stuffed with olives and wild mushrooms, crown roast of pork, lamb casserole.

Reviews and Ratings

A great value Cabernet Sauvignon under $18 from the Lodi wine region in California. Ironstone 2018 is full-bodied, smooth and silky on the palate with dark berry fruit, ripe black currant, vanilla and dark chocolate flavours wrapped up in campfire smoke from generous oak aging. Pair with a pork roast. The Cab Sauv. grapes are sourced from several Lodi sub-appellations, including Mokelumne River and Sloughouse. The winery practices sustainable viticultural practices such cover cropping, crop reduction, leaf removal, organic materials and drip irrigation. - Community Wine Reviews
