El Esteco Blend de Extremos Malbec 2020, Calchaquíes Valley, Argentina: From Calchaquíes Valley, El Esteco Blend De Extremos 2020 Malbec is produced from grapes sourced from two high-altitude vineyards in the valley; one vineyard in Chañar Punco is over 2000 metres above sea level with the winery's Cafayate vineyard over 1700 metres above sea level. A full-bodied Argentine Malbec with grapes sourced from two sites in Gualtallary, both of them above 1,250 metres, the wine is fragrant with anise, bay and ripe dark berry aromas; dry, fruity and spicy with blueberry, blackberry, savoury herbs zesty and concentrated on the palate. El Enemigo Malbec 2018, Mendoza, Argentina: El Enemigo 2018 Malbec has a splash of Cabernet Franc added to the mix and is a joint project of Alejandro Vigil and Adrianna Catena. Beautifully balanced and fresh, the wine is dry, medium-bodied with dark berry fruit, violets and dried wild herbs finishing on a flinty mineral note and textured on the palate. Schild Estate Ben Schild Reserve Shiraz 2019, Barossa Valley, South Australia, Australia: From Lyndoch in the Barossa Valley, Schild Estate Ben Schild Reserve 2019 Shiraz is produced from grapes sourced from a single vineyard. It is dry, full-bodied, fruit-driven and spicy with ripe black currant, earthy florals, meaty, deli and pepper spice flavours savoury and long on the palate. Tahbilk Cabernet Sauvignon 2018, Nagambie Lakes, Victoria, Australia: From Nagambie Lakes, Victoria, Tahbilk 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is fresh and rich with dark berry, cassis, dark plum, earthy, savoury and spicy flavours concentrated on the palate and excellent value at $23. The 70 acre estate vineyard is certified carbon neutral and the winery traces its winemaking roots back to 1860. It was purchased by the current winemaker's great grandfather, Reginald Purbrick, in 1925 and since then five generations of the family have been involved in the winemaking. Grapes were given some hang time to obtain perfect ripeness while maintaining fresh acidity.
