Using grapes grown in the south-facing, clay soils of the La Rosa vineyard in the highest part of the Serralunga D’Alba region, this Barolo is a brilliant garnet red in the glass, with both floral and spicy cherry notes. Balanced acidity that carries through to a spicy finish, this is the perfect pairing to bolder red meat dishes or heavier pasta. Also makes a wonderful gift for Barolo lovers! Tasted October 2017.

The Serralunga D’Alba region happens to be the largest producer of Barolo for the Fontanafredda winery, and this 2013 vintage represents the 25th anniversary of this wine. The striped label is a nod to the once striped buidings that housed the first kings of Italy in the mid-19th century. Brilliant garnet in the glass, aromas of forest floor, eucalyptus and dark charries transform into spicy cherry flavours and a lingering spicy finish. Wonderful with a variety of meals, from charcuterie boards to holiday dinners. Tasted October 2017.

This Langhe DOC Nebbiolo is a very elegant red in the glass, delicate in colour but with vanilla and spice on the nose and in the glass as a result of spending 8 months in wood casks. Wonderful with a variety of traditional Italian fare, from simple pastas to antipasto platters. Tasted October 2017.
