Reviews and Ratings

Jason Solanki rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Gamay. Candied strawberry and cherry aromas. Ripe, juicy fruit and slightly off-dry with strawberry and cherry on the palate. Really good acidity and with a nice finish. Tasted Sept/2012.
Tawse was named Winery of the Year at the 2010, 2011 and 2012 Wine Access Canadian Wine Awards! Charming salmon pink, this perennial favourite is produced from a blend of Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir and Gamay. An appealing fresh, floral note and cherry/berry aromas rush from the glass. Dry, medium bodied, deftly balanced, it’s clean, fruity and lively on the palate, the red fruit and juicy texture offering a delightfully tasty, crisp and flavourful finish. Sip away. Score: 4 (out of 5) Source: Susan Desjardins, winecurrent.com, March 17, 2012
Tawse was named Winery of the Year at the 2011 Canadian Wine Awards. Gamay, Pinot Noir, Cab Franc, Cab Sauv and Merlot. Ripe strawberry, red cherry, candy apple, Asian pear and rose petals with bright acidity and a kiss of tannin giving nice focus. Flavourful, crisp finish. Chill and sip, or pair it with chicken or pork souvlaki. Source: Vintages Wine Catalogue.
