Pleasantly bitter and tarry. in Australian Shiraz. Juicy, full-bodied and layered. Drink with hamburgers or steak. Finishes with tart blackberries, pepper and spice. The McLaren Vale region in Australia is known for top-notch Shiraz like this one. Pair with hamburgers.

Shiraz food pairings: hamburger, steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Philippe Perreault - Sommelier rated this wine as 84/100 with the following review:

Deep purple color.

Aromas of cherry, blackberry, black pepper, mint, chocolate and oak.

The palate is fresh, chewy full-bodied and long.

Pair it with a beef sirloin with chimichurri sauce.

Serve it at 15-17 degrees.

Can be aged 8-10 years.
This single vineyard estate is situated in the cooler, elevated northeast region of the McLaren Vale and has 12 individual blocks of Shiraz vines planted in ironstone and sand soils that overlie the ancient North Maslin Sands geological formation. The 2012 vintage of this Shiraz is firm tannins and black fruit aromatics. - Community Wine Reviews
