Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Dark red fruit with underlying spice and vanilla aromatics. Delicious mouth-watering extra-dry palate repeats in an elegant blend and lingering finish.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Plum and blueberry aromas with an almost salty minerality. The taste carries an impression of that saltiness as well as some grippy tannins and flavours of dark cherry and blackberry. Tangy acidity as well. This wine would probably be even better in a few years. Great wine for rare prime rib.
James Marentette rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Deep rustic red for chops, sausages, pork roast. Great value
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Dark red fruit, hints of vanilla and spice. Dried blueberries and a touch of mocha on the palate, well balanced, full bodied with a lingering finish.
Courtney Flood rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Great value wine! Luscious deep dark cherry, plum, and blueberry aromas with milk chocolate richness and a hint of spicy black peppercorn. Full bodied and dry with a slightly tannic grip.
The 2012 vintage of this Côtes du Rhône 100% is actually a blend of grapes, not 100% of any one (that's just the wine's name): 40% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre and the balance Cinsault, Carignan and Marselan grapes. This wine is aged 12 months in 80% concrete tanks and 20% in oak barrels. Xavier Vignon was the consulting winemaker for various Rhone Valley wineries, before focusing on his own bottling. - Community Wine Reviews
