The Italian wine style Ripasso is a lighter version of Amarone also made in the northern Italian region of Veneto. Torre del Falasco offers dark fruit and spice. A spicy, full-bodied relatively smooth Italian red wine with lots of mouth-watering acidity on the palate. Aromas of tart cherry. Pair with a tangy tomato sauce.

Ripasso Valpolicella food pairings: rich tomato sauce and pasta, vegetarian lasagna, fricassee rabbit.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Delightfully delicious depth depicted in this Ripasso with some layered complexity. Loads of dried fruit. Plum, cherry, raisin, prune, leather and touches of earthy tree bark. On the palate lots of ripe stewed and dry fruit. Dried cherry and bay leaves. Medium plus acidity and body. Medium tannins and finish. Will pair nicely with with minced Italian sausage stuffed portobello mushrooms or tomato beef ravioli. October 2017 - Andrea's Wine Cellar
Torre Del Falasco (2015) is a Ripasso Valpolicella from Valpantena and a steal at this price. Torre del Falasco takes its name from the lair of a thief named Falasco, who used a small tower as his hideout. The red wine blend for this ripasso is made from Corvina, Veronese, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes. - Community Wine Reviews
