Torre Del Falasco 2019 Valpolicella Ripasso is a vibrant, full-bodied Amarone from Valpantena produced from mostly Corvina Veronese with some Rondinella and Corvinone wine grapes. Ripasso is a winemaking technique that takes Valpolicella (from the Veneto region) and then introduces the lees of Amarone into the wine. There is enough residual sugar in those lees to allow a second fermentation that produces a bigger, richer wine. This vintage is lovely and balanced with bright dark berry fruit, meaty, chocolate, sweet dried tobacco leaf, soft spice and vanilla flavours full and lush on the palate. Tannins are rich. Pour with roast Cornish game hens.

Valpolicella Ripasso food pairings: rich tomato sauce and pasta, vegetarian lasagna, fricassee rabbit.

Torre Del Falasco 2019 Valpolicella Ripasso is a vibrant, full-bodied blend of Corvina with dollops of Rondinella and Corvinone wine grapes. Ripasso is a winemaking technique that takes Valpolicella (from the Veneto region) and then introduces the lees of Amarone into the wine. Look for ripe dark berry, plum, meaty, cocoa, anise and smoky flavours generous on the palate. Drink or hold. - Community Wine Reviews
