Natalie's Score: 89/100

This lovely Spanish red wine is dusty and earthy with great structure, but it's not fruity in the least. Just a faint hint of dried blackberry on this Rioja red wine. Also dried herbs and an almost chalky finish in an attractive way, though a little short. This full-bodied Spanish red wine is made from all Tempranillo. Finishes with espresso.

Food pairings: pork, game, lamb.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

From Spain's Rioja region, a Tempranillo matured 24 mos in oak, 12 mos in bottle. Aromas and stronger flavours of mature red fruit, sweet spice, tobacco, leather and fragrant rosemary. Mouth-watering acidity, silky tannins, endless elegant finish. Savour this one with rack of lamb smothered in lots of garlic and rosemary.

Muriel Reserva Vendimia Seleccionada (2011) is a full-bodied red wine with from 100% Tempranillo. The wine is blackberry jam, wood smoke and espresso coffee and dark chocolate on the palate. There is a lingering dried-herb, savoury finish on the wine. Really a WOW wine looking for a roasted garlic and rosemary leg of lamb. - Community Wine Reviews
