Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A bright nose with tropical gooseberry, citrus and a touch of guava. The palate shows pineapple, passionfruit, guava and lime. Crisp mouth-watering mouthfeel, with a long citrus gooseberry finish. It's hard to beat the Crawfords when it comes to Sauv Blanc!
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This New Zealand Sauvignon is an excellent value at $10. This wine offers you classic SB that you have come to love. Crisp, clean, mouthwatering acidity and aromas of fresh grass, gooseberry, citrus, herbal, stony minerality and cattiness. The length is long and tropical. Serve well chilled. Sip on it's own or pair with salads, soft cheeses, grilled veggies, veggie burger. Price performer.

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Kim Crawford's ultra popular Sauvignon Blanc is a textbook example of expressive Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The nose is full of sweet passion fruit, guava, and citrus, all interlaced with fresh herbal notes. Mouthwatering citrus and sweet lemongrass leads to a long tart fruit finish. Year after year, Kim Crawford manages to produce some of the world's most popular wines at the most competitive prices. Enjoy with crisp summer salads with creamy goat cheese, asparagus risotto with seared scallops, or fresh oysters on the half shell. 90 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Lots of tropical fruit and citrus on the nose - classic notes of freshly cut grass, gooseberry - lime and crisp lemon zest on the palate. Really a broad spectrum here...Good acidity. Great value.
Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 83/100 with the following review:

Alex: Red pepper, gooseberry and lime zest nose, quite restrained for Marlborough! Hint of guava, light streamlined palate makes this a good summer sipper and wine to pair with salads. Not as intense as other styles, which I like. 83 pts.

Priya: Smells a bit like cat's pee, which, as you probably know - is not my favorite. For a sauvignon blanc, I'd be ok having a glass of this, but I'm still not convinced with Sauvignon Blanc! 83 pts
One of New Zealand's best known (and most loved) Sauvignon Blancs, Kim Crawford delivers well above it's price point. This half bottle size is great when you only want a couple of glasses of wine, and it offers terrific lemon and lime brightness. The full bottle size is also available in liquor stores now. - Community Wine Reviews
