Reviews and Ratings

Claria Calderone rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review:

A terrific wine. Fresh and crisp with a hint and flavour of pineapples. I prefer this delicious wine shrimp & salmon, as it provides a perfect blend with its calm citrus taste.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

From the inimitable Kim Crawford, an aromatic, well-balanced and food-friendly Sauv Blanc with layers of tropical gooseberry, citrus and a touch of guava on the nose. The palate shows pineapple, passionfruit, guava, lime and herbal touches. Crisp mouth-watering acidity, with a long citrus gooseberry finish. The gold standard for New Zealand Sauv Blanc.
Tasted Sept 2016
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Crisp and zingy. Kim Crawford never disappoints. Aromatic heaven; peach, nectarine, guava, gooseberry and grass. Flavours show green apple, flint with a citrus kick. High yet well suited acidity matches herbed chicken, mussels and soft cheeses. Its approachability also makes it good on its own with friends. A standby favourite. 91 points - tasted June 2017
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Superb value New Zealand Savvy B. This zippy white wine doesn't act against type: racy acidity, fresh herbs, gooseberry, honeydew melon, some wet grass and tomato leaf. Light-bodied with a lingering mouthwatering finish. Serve well chilled with shellfish, an array of salads or on the patio while summer lingers. Points for value. Price performer.
Tasted: September 2016
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The same green, gooseberry, lime, fresh cut grass found in other vintages, but with much more tropical fruit in the aroma this year. The taste and acidity are still the same but the pairing opens up a touch because of the perceived sweetness in the nose.
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This is a great value wine - notes of citrus, passionfruit - the glass showcases typical SB lemon, lime, freshly cut grass....good acidity.
Melanie Aubert rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This wine is an old favourite and a dependable purchase. There is a reason it is a Vintages Essential! The grapes are sourced from multiple sites in the Marlborough region to re-create the iconic Kim Crawford flavour profile from year to year: passion fruit, lime and zesty herbaciousness with zingy acidity. It keeps you coming back for more. Pair with seafood!

Winemaker Anthony blends different vineyard parcels of the grapes, like they do in Champagne to create more complexity and interesting flavours. This is the half-bottle size of this wine (375 ml). Finishes with notes of gooseberry and canned peas. Lots of racy acidity for food. - Community Wine Reviews
