A richly concentrated California Cabernet with ripe dark fruit and balanced toasty oak. Supple, smooth and full-bodied. Mocha and dark chocolate on the finish. Perfect with a juicy steak this evening. This California red wine has a respectable quality-price-ratio. Pair with barbecued meats.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: barbecued chicken, spare ribs in a sweet-and smoky sauce, pork, hodge podge, salad.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Richly flavoured smoky dark berry with vanilla and spice in this uber value priced California Cabernet Sauvignon. A great wine for hosting throughout the year, whether it's summer BBQ or winter chili cook-offs, this wine will be enjoyed by those that like big smoky reds. Tasted January 2017. 90 points.
Wineboy rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Wow !! A whack of very charred oak dominates this wine from start to finish. Unsure if I would ever make a wine with this much oak, but for those who love this style - enjoy.
A richly concentrated California Cabernet with ripe dark fruit and balanced toasty oak. Pair with grilled beef prime ribs. Four generations of this family have made wine. You can visit the winery in the Gold Rush town of Murphys. - Community Wine Reviews
