Natalie's Score: 93/100

Dark chocolate and sweet black fleshy plums on the nose with a pleasant zing of acidity mid-palate for lots of dishes from tangy meat sauces to grilled meats. More black fruit and mouth-filling roundness. A consistently good producer at fair prices for the quality. Highly recommended. This Australian red wine is a regional blend of Shiraz grapes of about two-thirds Clare Valley and one-third McLaren Vale regions. The wine was partially cold-soaked for 4 days, then aged in 100% new American oak barrels for 11 months. Deeply concentrated and flavoured.

Shiraz food pairings: juicy, grilled rare sirloin steak, hard cheese like Cheddar or Havarti.

Reviews and Ratings

Perry rated this wine as 92/100
Gwen Barton rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Aromatic and complex. Generous nose and flavours of blackberry jam, menthol and smoke with notes of pepper and baking spice. A long, warm finish with mature tannins and sprinkled with Dark Chocolate shavings. Pair with meatballs in maple bbq sauce. Tasted March 2018.
Grapes for this Shiraz were sourced from both the Clare Valley and McLaren Vale wine regions in South Australia Wakefield. Jaraman is dark chocolate, ripe dark plum and sweet spice on the palate wrapped up in a mouth-watering acidity. The wine was partially cold-soaked for 4 days, then aged in 100% new American oak barrels for 11 months. - Community Wine Reviews
