This is an absolutely stunning BC red wine! Wow, right out of the gate: depth, concentration, length and finesse. Towering structure. This is a blend of estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet France and Merlot grapes. The wine is aged 18 months in French and American oak barrels. Finishes with leather, espresso and wild blackberry. Highly recommended.

Meritage food pairings: grilled venison, rib-eye steak, flat iron steak, other full-flavoured dishes.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Yum! I found this a bit more savoury than the 2013, but also amazing. There is a lot more cocoa, leather, spice, and almost a floral note on the palate. Full bodied, nice acidity to pair with a beautiful steak, and nice spicy and smoky notes and a blueberry note on the finish. Quite lovely!
Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Rich and full-bodied red blend of estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, small-batch fermented and aged 18 months in French and American oak barrels. Deep ruby in the glass with rich earthy florals, incense, dark spices and ferrous aromas on the nose. Smooth and lush dark cherry, cumin and cozy spice flavours on the palate with a long smoky finish. Tannins are soft and velvety. A beautiful and elegant Meritage from the Similkameen Valley, B.C. Pair with rib roast.
Deep purple in colour, the wine gives off a rich bouquet of dark fruits, floral aromas and notes of sweet tobacco. This Cabernet based blend is full bodied and intense, yet elegant and feminine with excellent structure and concentrated flavours. Dark berries, fig jam, and cocoa notes fill the mouth layered over silky tannins and minerality from the soil. The fruit and oak are particularly well integrated. The long finish shows baking spices, cinnamon and cardamom, and sweet vanilla.
