Natalie's Score: 89/100

This wine consistently delivers well above its price. It sports aromas of plum, cherry, chocolate, leather and tobacco on the nose, and a fruit-rich palate with a ripe centre and medium body. A flavourful reminder of why Ripasso is so adored – and so appropriate for winter-seasonal sipping. Enjoy. My note: Savoury and delicious; tastes like twice the price. Blackberry, cedar, wild black raspberry. Some kind of wonderful!

Valpolicella food pairings: game, hearty beef stew.

Reviews and Ratings

Corinna Horton rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This Valpolicella on its own is fiery and spicy with a serious amount of vitality and a smooth finish. I pair it with a Pamigiano Reggiano and orange blossom honey for a killer combo on the patio or before dinner
Joe Hache Prince Edward Count rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Delores found me here in the office doing wine reviews and came in with a surprise. A glass of 2008 Ripasso and a small plate of Asiago cheese (from Italy) and what a surprise it was!

There were definite aromas of dark cherry, chocolate and leather on the nose and we found it very smooth with a medium body.

And marrying this Italian wine and cheese was a match made in heaven!
