A savoury, cedary, full-bodied Niagara red wine blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes. The grapes are fermented separately and aged in small oak barrels for a year before blending. Aromas of tart blackberry and sour black cherry with oak. Decant 1 hour. Pair with a rare steak.

Food pairings: grilled steak, tourtière, grilled pork chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Consistently good year after year. Aromas of dark ripe berry, cedar, black pepper and leather. Full bodied with medium+ acidity on the palate. Lots of warm spice in the finish. This wine is blended from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot, each aged in oak for one year before the finished wine is blended. Enjoy with prime rib.
Trius is a Bordeaux-style red wine blend from the Niagara Peninsula region. Fragrant with a ripe blackcurrant, dark berry and wild herb aromas on the nose, dry and savoury with dark berry, plum, underbrush and savoury herb flavours on the palate. Pair with a veal Porterhouse steak. - Community Wine Reviews
