Still loving this lush and full-bodied Merlot from Stags' Leap Winery. The 2018 vintage reminds me of chocolate covered cherries with rich dark berry, spiced plum and nutty flavours on the palate with bright acidity to match. Tannins are fine and rounded.

Merlot food pairings: Brazilian-style flank steak with chimichurri sauce, rack of BBQ ribs, veal Porterhouse, grilled lamb, Tandoori-flavored dishes.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Warm and sensual, with aromas of dark cherry and plums, along with warm baking spice, mocha and campfire smoke. Full bodied, smooth, and plush, with bright acidity on the palate and soft tannins, mingled with ripe, rounded fruit. Finish is long with hints of spice and smoke. Enjoy with slow braised beef short ribs.
