Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Solid wine from the Maipo Valley in Chile, the Santa Rita, Medalla Real Gran Reserva 2016 offers aromas of cranberry, red currant, jalapeno, clay dust, baking spice, leather and cedar. This medium-bodied wine is crafted from 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, 3% Carmenere and 2% Petite Verdot, providing silky tannins, juicy flavors and a round finish. Palate: black plum, blackberry, dried herbs, graphite, mocha, spice and leather. Enjoy.
Santa Rita Medalla Real Gran Reserva is always a crowd-pleaser. The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon from the Maipo Valley is no less so. Love the ripe dark plum, blueberries, mint and softly smoky aromas on the nose . Smooth with juicy, ripe red berry, blackberry, pepper spice and toasty smoky flavours on the palate. Lovely now or later. Pair with grilled game sausages. - Community Wine Reviews
