Natalie's Score: 89/100

A full-bodied, juicy Italian red wine with lots of mouth-watering acidity. Aromas of sun-dried tomato and tart cherry and toasty oak. This wine uses the traditional method of refermenting the wine on Amarone marc which increases both alcohol and intensity of flavour. Pair with strong cheeses and tangy tomato sauces.

Ripasso Valpolicella Classico Superiore food pairings: pizza topped with steak strips and garlic, spicy sausage , prime rib roast, hearty winter stew.

Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

On the nose, there are aromas of dark berry, blueberry, plums, dried eucalyptus leaves, as well as hints of cigar box and sweet spice. The dark fruit follows through on the palate. The tannins are velvety and the acidity is fresh. Nice wine!

Tasted January 2018
Remo Farina Montecorna 2015 is a full-bodied and savoury Ripasso Valpolicella Classico Superiore from the Veneto wine region. And, at a great price point. Lots of intense blackfruit, spice, dark chocolate and smoky flavours on the palate. Decant two hours prior to serving. The wine blend is the tradition Valpolicella blend of mostly Corvina with Corvinone, Rondinella and Molinara. Pair with grilled ribs. - Community Wine Reviews
