Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

P: Ahh at first this smell reminds me of rosewater-flavored Indian sweets! Then of course I smell the alcohol and the dried berries and I realize I'm not indulging in dessert after all. A lovely ripasso this is. All that you'd expect and want--intense fruit flavor, a rich, round taste and a gorgeous dark cherry color. A fab wine for the price. 90 pts.

A: If all ripassos were like this I'd buy more of them. Great nose of strong black pepper, smoke and dried plum, blackberries and potpourri. Palate is rich and concentrated, very suave with spicy blackberry liqueur doused in cracked pepper. Good acidity and great freshness. Lots of character for the price. I'd happily pay $30 for this as it's finer than many an entry-priced Amarone. Excellent benchmark ripasso. 90pts
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This wine has a beautiful clear deep ruby red appearance - this alone attracted me to it actually! The nose is clean with pronounced aromas of black plums, cassis, baking spice, mint/eucalyptus and cedar. After a couple minutes in the glass dried fruit (dates) and wet stone characteristics start to reveal themselves amongst an already complex bouquet of aromas. It has firm ageable tannins (medium +), high acidity, full body and an integrated, but still noticeable, presence of alcohol (14% abv). The dominant flavours include: dried dates, cassis, chocolate, cedar and mint. The finish is long and mouthwatering with a spice flavour being the longstanding note. This wine is a superb bargain for a full bodied Valpolicella Ripasso. It pairs very well with roasted or braised meats. If drinking now, decant at least and hour before serving or better yet, open the bottle in the morning and let it breath all day. It is a glorious red wine! Tasted Nov. 2015.
This robust Italian red wine lies on the spectrum between the lighter Valpolicella Classico Superiore style and the more full-bodied Amarone Classico. Black fruit and smoke aromas. - Community Wine Reviews
