Very elegant, balanced Californian Zinfandel, not over-the-top juicy berry flavours. Lots of flavour but delivered with finesse. Pair with grilled pork chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Darlene Myers - CAPS Student rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

I'm giving this wine a 90 for a couple of reasons. It tastes very good, it's a great price and many reviews will have it as one of the best wines you will find for under $20. I like it so much because Zinfandel is so food friendly. This Zinfandel from Ravenswood is full of gorgeous juicy fruit flavors and toasty vanilla oak. A hint of pepper just makes it a great pairing with barbecue and grilled foods.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Opaque, dark garnet red with nose of very ripe raspberries, red cherries and bousenberrie, with spicy blk pepper notes. Palate continues the ripe red berry fruit flavours , with spice, vanilla and toasted oak.Long ripe berry finish.

Notes of vanilla, cocoa, and spice linger on the finish in this wine with complexity and well-balanced acidity.

For more than 35 years, Ravenswood has been making iconic Californian Zinfandel from old vines. This Lodi-based Zin has big, early-ripening grapes from deep sandy soils. Finishes with luscious flavours or black cherry, blackberry and dark spice. - Community Wine Reviews
