A rich, complex, full-bodied red wine blend of Cabernet and Shiraz grapes from one of Australia's best producers. Black cherry liqueur aromas and flavours on the nose and mid-palate. Penfold's Bin 389 is sometimes referred to fondly as "Baby Grange" as sells for a fraction of the winery's flagship Grange, but still demonstrates superb craftsmanship in the hands of chief winemaker Peter Gago and his team. Pair with grilled meats. Highly recommended.

Cabernet Shiraz food pairings: beef.

Reviews and Ratings

Although this Australian red wine is nicknamed "baby Grange," there's nothing small about Penfolds Bin 389. The 2012 vintage is a huge blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon and 46% Shiraz grapes grown in Wrattonbully, Barossa, McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek and Robe regions. The wine was aged 12 months in American oak hogshead barrels, of which 40% were new. - Community Wine Reviews
