Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Bin 389 is often referred to as "Poor Man's Grange" or "Baby Grange". Selling for 1/10th the price of Grange, yet delivering such impressive complexity and refinement, I can see why it's spoken of in the same light. Deep ruby, almost opaque, this premium Aussie Cab-Shiraz blend is loaded full of ripe and juicy dark fruit, blueberry, anise, baking spice, with a welcome herbal/underbrush undertone that reminds you of the important role the delicious Cabernet plays. Layered and luscious, this big and bold and silky smooth wine has everything you could ask for to enjoy the finest BBQ fare or prime rib this year, and for many years to come. Drink 2014-2025+. Tasted November 2014. 92 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Terry Jeans - Certified S rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This full-bodied wine that is quite aromatic with plum, blackberry, cassis, spice, eucalyptus, rose and minerality. Equally complex on the palate, with a nice amount of tannin and acid. I would love this wine with a substantial steak on the old bbq.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Black cherries, dark chocolate, smoke, cedar, and a nice floral note. Very nice tannins, velvety mouth feel, long full cherry finish. A fantastic blend that would pair well with acidic tomato based dishes.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Deep and full flavoured, with rich red fruit and blackberry aromas and a hint of brown sugar and some herbaceous notes. Similar flavours on the palate, also including some leather and spice. Full bodied, prominent tannin and a long finish. A fabulous steak wine, for now and for a years to come - enjoy!
Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Nov 16, 2014: Deep ruby, nose has cassis, spiced plums, sweet baking spice, savoury notes of herb/eucalyptus, peppery and dusty mineral. Full bodied, repeating flavours from the nose along with toasty oak, and chewy tannins and balanced acidity with a long finish. Hold for 2-3 years and enjoy over the following 10+.
