Minty blackberry aromas on the nose with great freshness and elegance on the palate. Mouth-filling richness of dark fruit. Great balance and finesse with a long finish. Perfect for dinner parties. Cabernet Sauvignon gives the wine structure and bones, while shiraz gives it roundness and flesh. This wine is matured in barrels that contained the previous vintage of Grange, the winery's flagship wine. This wine keeps great company, and so will you when you share it with friends.

Cabernet Shiraz food pairings: roast beef, black bean soup.

Reviews and Ratings

Darlene Myers - CAPS Student rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

When you bring together Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, and the name Penfolds is on the label, you can't go wrong. Max Schubert, who designed the Grange Series for Penfolds, also designed the Bin 389 and is often referred to as the poor man's grange. It was gorgeous. Structured and rich, the big bold fruits of the Cabernet marry well with the spicy peppery notes of the Shiraz. A food friendly favorite.
This full-bodied red wine pairs well with steak. Source: Winery
