The Meritage Reserve is a new addition to the Mission Hill Estate's Reserve tier of wines. Lovely texture on this full-bodied, modern-style red blend of 34% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot and 7% Petit Verdot matured in French and American oak barrel for 15 months. Deep red in the glass with lots of fleshy blackberry, blueberry and dark cocoa notes on the palate. Pair with a prime rib roast.

Meritage food pairings: grilled red meat, roast pork, hard cheeses.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Beautiful balance, structure, and texture on this wine. Everything works together. Dark fruit and ripe berry aromas along with dried herbs, mint and smoke. Full bodied, firm tannins, bright acidity and fruit, and smoky, spicy notes on the finish. Perfect for your next grilled steak dinner, decant for 1-2 hours and enjoy!
