A layered wine with Old World elegance and New World fruit. This red possesses aromas of black fruit and smoke. A towering structure holds peppered blackberry, cassis, cedar box and herbal notes. Classic styling. Incredible length and depth and aging potential. Truly one of South Africa's icon wines

Food pairings: slow-cooked beef ribs, sautéed wild mushrooms and venison steak, garlic pork rib roast.

Reviews and Ratings

Old world elegance meets new world wine technology. Meerlust Trust Rubicon (2010) from the Stellenbosch wine region in South Africa's Western Cape W.O. is deep red with a smoky, ripe black fruit, cedar and cigar box spice nose. Lots of muscle here, well-structured and balanced fruit to acidity. Drink now through to 2020. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
