Natalie's Score: 95/100

From the Stellenbosch W.O., Meerlust Rubicon 2017 is a full-bodied, smoky red blend of 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. Grapes were vinified separately for the final blend. Deep, dark, dense and aromatic with earthy florals, cassis, black plum, soy sauce, anise, cinnamon, cedar spice flavours concentrated and intense on the palate. Tannins are fine-grained and powdery. Demands food! Feed it a roast beef done rare. Built to age for 10-plus years.

Food pairings: slow-cooked beef ribs, sautéed wild mushrooms and venison steak, garlic pork rib roast.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
