Old world elegance meets new world wine technology with Meerlust's Rubicon 2015. A delicious blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot each separately vinified, blended and matured 18 months in new oak and second use oak. Lots of well-developed muscle on this deep red with smoky, ripe black fruit, cedar and cigar box spice nose. Pair with roast pheasant.

Food pairings: slow-cooked beef ribs, sautéed wild mushrooms and venison steak, garlic pork rib roast.

Reviews and Ratings

Meerlust's Rubicon 2015 is a medium-bodied, rich and delicious blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. Each wine was vinified separately, blended and then matured for one year and a half partially in new oak and in second use oak. Look for rich dark berry fruit, light herbs and pepper spice on the palate. Tannins are fine and velvet. Enjoy now with your favourite cut of beef steak on the grill. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
