From J.M. Raffault, there is mouth-watering acidity on this Chinon from the Loire. Les Picasses 2015 is a dry, medium bodied Old World Cabernet Franc with sour cherry, red currant, fresh herbs and a zesty, clean mineral finish on this food-friendly red wine. Pair with a roast Bresse chicken. Malolactic fermentation for Les Picasses took place in 3-10 year old barrels and then the wine was aged for 12 months on its fine lees, both processes contributing richness and smoothness to the wine. It was aged in the ancient caves of the Loire Valley that comprise its famous tuffeau -- a soft stone found in the Loire.

Food pairings: Brazilian slow-cooked pork, beef and black bean stew, roast chicken.

J.M. Raffault's Les Picasses 2015 is a great value Chinon from the Loire wine region. Mouth-watering acidity on this medium bodied Old World Cabernet Franc from the Loire Valley. Look for sour cherry, red currant, fresh herbs and a zesty, clean minerality on this food-friendly red wine. Pair with a roast Bresse chicken or a holiday Turducken. Malolactic fermentation for this French red wine took place in 3-10 year old barrels and then the wine was aged for 12 months on its fine lees, both processes contributing richness and smoothness to the wine. It was aged in the ancient caves of the Loire Valley that are made up of tuffeau - a soft stone found in the Loire. Enjoy now and for the next three years. - Community Wine Reviews
