Produced from 100% Sangiovese wine grapes from a warm and dry vintage. Campo Ai Sassi is fragrant with florals and wild herb, robust and mouth-watering with blackberry, cherry, dusty herb and meaty flavours on the palate. Tannins are fine and grippy. Pair with a veal Porterhouse

Rosso di Montalcino food pairings: breaded veal cutlets, duck breast with celeriac salad, tagliatelle alla Bolognese, chicken herb-rubbed roast.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Always a great option! Made from 100% Sangiovese, aromas include red cherry and raspberry with notes of dried herbs, earth, leather and smoke. Medium bodied with bright acidity, light tannins, and vibrant ripe and tart fruit notes, with a touch of leather and smoke on the finish. Enjoy with duck or a hearty bolognese.
From Marchesi De' Frescobaldi Campo Ai Sassi 2017 Rosso Di Montalcino is produced form 100% Sangiovese wine grapes from a very warm and dry vintage. Elegant with ripe black cherry, cured meat, dried herbs and sweet spice flavours on the palate. Lots of bright acidity for food. Pair with rack of lamb. - Community Wine Reviews
