Reviews and Ratings

Mary Anne van Gaal rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This Pinot Noir from Niagara is produced in an eco-friendly vineyard. The nose is greeted with aromas of cherry, blackberry and a hint of smoke. Flavours of berry and tobacco linger on the tongue. It is a juicy Pinot and would pair well with roast turkey or chicken.
Astrid Young - Sommelier ISG CAPS rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Shows good extraction, deep garnet color, clear and bright, with purple reflections. Cherry, spice and lead pencil, with a forestey note on the nose. Lifted black and red peppers on the swirl; earthy toned with a plethora of sweet and dried fruits, sweet acidity and slightly chewy skin tannins, probably from a partial whole cluster ferment. As a house style, it demonstrates a commitment to quality and balance that is so evident in all of the Flat Rock wines.
Nick Onischuk - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The Flatrock Cellars Pinot Noir 2012 is an enjoyable light to medium bodied wine. Features aromas of cherry and raspberry. On the palate nice sour cherry, raspberry, spice and earthiness. Tasted November 2016 (89/100)
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Earthy aromas, as well as tart cherry and the slightest hint of mocha. Light bodied and fresh with a bit of smokiness from the oak and a light spice. Juicy and mouthwatering, great acidity and balance. A nice wine for pork or chicken.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Tart cranberry and strawberry, with a hint of smoke. The taste is acidic but smooth, centred around cranberry. Pair with soft cheeses.
Tom Vigeant reviewed this wine as follows:

Very pleasant nose, cherries and spice. Light to medium body, well balanced acidity, juicy red berries, mild spices, touch of oak. Approachable and good option if looking for middle ground between very classic and new world pinots.
