Natalie's Score: 90/100

A full-bodied bold beast of a Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley with 80% Cabernet Sauvignon with the balance in Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, aged for over a year and a half in 30% new French oak. Wine grapes are mostly sourced from the Coombsville estate vineyard with ripe blackberries, black currants, underbrush, earthy blue florals and wild herb flavours on the palate. Tannins are grippy and there is great acidity for food. Drink or hold in cellar for about 10 years. Pair a grilled Tomahawk steak.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: grilled lamb chops, Asian chicken salad, pork tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

A fully ripe Cab that is soft, almost jammy in the mouth. Intense red and black fruit flavours, with stewed plums and classic Cabernet cassis. Luscious in its texture. Try with haloumi crumbed rack of lamb @wrightwineblog
Faust 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon from the Coombsville AVA in Napa Valley, California. The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller portions of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, aged for 19 months in 30% new French oak. Full-bodied, bold and lush with blackberry, dark plum, wild herbs, underbrush, anise and cedar spice flavours on the palate. Tannins are firm, grippy and there is great acidity for food. Pair with rich grilled meats. - Community Wine Reviews
