Duckhorn 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is a full-bodied, smooth Cabernet Sauvignon-driven red blend with some Merlot added to the mix. Concentrated and plushy on the palate with layers of cassis, rich dark cherry, plum, dark chocolate, pepper and toasty oak spice flavours. Renee Ary blends fruit from Duckhorn's estate with grapes from other growers, adding the 12% Merlot for a plushier mouthfeel. Drink or hold.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: rib roast, roast chicken, roast breast of veal.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Delicious! Aromas of black cherry, blackberry, plum, mocha and warm baking spices. Full bodied and robust with firm grippy tannins, and mouthwatering acidity. Fruit and berry notes on the palate are rich, ripe and slighly jammy, balanced with notes of mocha, eucalyptus, clove and warm smoky hints. Enjoy with prime rib or any robust mushroom dishes.
Duckhorn 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is well-structured, concentrated and plushy on the palate with layers of cassis, rich dark cherry, plum, dark chocolate, pepper, vanilla and toasty oak spice flavours. A blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with 16% Merlot produced from grapes sourced from Rutherford, Oak Knoll, Napa Valley, Calistoga and Oakville, the wine was aged for 16 months in French oak barrels (50% new). - Community Wine Reviews
