Natalie's Score: 88/100

Juicy and robust with firm tannins and a grip on the palate that will smooth out somewhat with 1-2 hours of decanting and additional cellar time. Black fruit, tar and smoke with toasty oak. Pair with a rare steak. The 2012 vintage is a red wine blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc grapes. Finishes with black spice.

Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: veal chops, barbecued veal chops in red wine sauce, strong cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

More power of flavours than one expects from from Bordeaux 2014 vintage. Blackberries and herbs with a touch of plums. Tannins are smoothing nicely but give this one 3 more years or a rarer roast beef or filet mignon.
Château Le Grand Verdus (2014) is a red wine blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The Château Le Grand Verdus boasts 115 hectares of vineyards in the heart of the Entre Deux Mers wine region not far from Saint Emilion. Vineyards are composed mainly of limestone, clay and small gravel. The 2014 vintage is crisp and clean with fresh red berry and plum fruit flavours. - Community Wine Reviews
