Generous and juicy with real weight behind it. Stylish winemaking with classic lines … meaning: this has lots of rich flavor without being heavy. Great balance with lovely blackcurrant and spice notes.

Syrah Blend food pairings: pepperoni pizza, bison, meatballs.

Reviews and Ratings

Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Alex: The 2006 Beaucastel is going through a shut-down phase at this time, but has all making the underlying material for a great, classic example. Locked under a wall of crushed rock minerality, hints of pepper, clove and licorice peek out. The palate is powerfully built, again awash with minerality, dried spices and licorice. There's a wallop of dark fruit here, but wait another 5 years at least for it to show through and sweeten. Fine length, tannin and acidity in unison on the finish, this is a solid classic, that you can count on lasting well for a dozen more years. 92 pts
