Reviews and Ratings

Brian Gray Hamilton rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Nose of dark fruit, black raspberry, slight medicinal note of interest. Palette is layered with dense fruit and silky tannins giving the wine a sublime balance and persistence on the finish. Outstanding!
Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

The 2013 Beaucastel Rouge hits you with a wave of gamey nuance at first, then blows off to reveal a lacy tapestry of pepper, garrigue and waxy berries of all dark colors. Bright and spicy, juicy berry bowl palate, seasoned with pepper and green olives, with excellent stuffing and harmony. Finishes on a trip of pepper, cherry and sinewy tannin. A solid vintage of Beaucastel, stick it in the cellar for 10 more years for the real reward and value. 93 pts
The 2013 vintage of this Châteauneuf du Pape from the Perrin brothers is a blend of Mourvèdre grapes, adding dark berries and ripe tannins; Grenache and others. Since 1687, Beaucastel has been making wine in the Rhone Valley, ennobled by King Louis XIV. The Perrin family have owned the property for more than a century and six generations. There are 13 grapes in the blend, originally selected by the Popes of the fourteenth century. - Community Wine Reviews
