Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The 2012 Bonterra Cabernet Sauvignon is labelled as "organic" and 14.0% ABV, yielding a California blend with 72% from Mendocino County, 24% Lake County, 4% Napa County. Ruby red and boasting red fruit, slight black peppercorn esters, fresh plum and fresh fig on the nose. On the palate, this bold red shows a similar profile as on the nose. Full-bodied, medium - high tannins, medium plus acidity, this wine is well structured and has a dry mouthfeel with grippy characteristics. Recommend pairing this fine red with BBQ or roasted red meats. Enjoy now or could be easily cellared over the next decade.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This is a medium to full bodied California Cab blended from grapes coming from different counties - Mendocino, Lake, and Napa. Aromas include ripe red berries, currants, a bit of dried, spicy herbs, and a hint of cedar. The wine has balanced acidity, and is more fruit forward on the palate. Tannins are medium leaning to the more grippy side, but not overwhelming. Overall a really nice and flavourful wine, try it with a marinated steak and grilled veggies during a summer BBQ.
