Focussed, classic Cabernet Sauvignon from Bonterra with juicy blackberry, cassis, mocha, savoury herb and toasty oak flavours on the palate. Decant for two hours if pouring now. Great cellaring candidate for the next three years. The winemaker is Jeff Cichocki. Bonterra has been producing organic wine for 20-plus years.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: grilled steak, bison burgers, roast pork.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Great Cali Cab example at a nice price point. Aromas of blackberries and black currant, along with hints of dried herbs and oak, with just a hint of sweet tobacco. Full bodied, smooth on the palate, with soft tannins, and medium+ acidity. Fruit flavours are ripe with a slight tartness for balance, along with some earthy, herbaceous notes, and a bit of dusty mocha on the palate. Enjoy with burgers or any grilled meat.
Lovely rich, organic, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon from Bonterra. Consistently good year after year. Smoked plums, juicy blackberry and sweet cake spice on this vintage. Bonterra has been producing organic wines for 20 or more years. Pour with a rare prime rib steak with all the trimmings. - Community Wine Reviews
