Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Always dynamic and delicious. This wine has lots of fruit skin, briars, crushed rock and crushed and dried purple flowers. Demands red meat or cheese. 91 Points.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A pretty nose with a layered bouquet of dark plum, boysenberry, leather, toasted hazelnuts and orchid florals and plummy chocolate. Flavours reveal cherry compote reduction, blackberry pie filling, spicy earth and dried thyme. Medium acidity, body and medium plus velvety tannins and finish. - Revisiting after decanting and is continuing to evolve: super toasty with additional vanilla bean and toasted coconut on the palate. A superb barbecue and grilled meat pick.
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This is 100% Mencia harvested from old vines - dark, ripe, black fruit, prune, plum and oak spice - medium (-) tannins, decent acidity. Solid intensity and concentration for the price tag. Tasted November 2017.
From the Bierzo wine region Spain, Abad Dom Bueno (2013) is a Mencía wine and great value under $20. The wine is ruby red in the glass with meaty, juicy rich black fruit on the nose, and cherry, vanilla, cake spice and leather on the palate. Drink now and for the next three years. Pair with rich meat dishes. - Community Wine Reviews
