Skinnygrape Pinot Grigio, Canada: A light, zippy refreshing white wine made from Pinot Grigio grapes grown in various countries and bottled in Canada. The main selling point here is 80 calories which is achieved by the low alcohol of 8%. A nice quaffer when you're trying to count your calories. Unlike other wines, the nutritional facts are printed on the back of the bottle label, much as you would see on a food product: fat 0, carbohydrates 5 grams or 2% of your daily intake, sugars 3 grams, protein 0.3 grams and calcium 2%. Not surprisingly, there are no saturated or trans-fats, sodium or fibre. Drink: 2014-2015. 283804 8% MD 750 mL  $11.95 Score: 83/100. December 4, 2014 kale, carrot sticks, lettuce. Full Review

Vinyasa White 2013, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada: They lower the calorie count by lower the alcohol percentage which in turn means not allowing most of the natural grape sugars to convert to alcohol. Therefore you get an off-dry slightly sweet tasting white wine (both sugar and alcohol contribute calories to wine). Soft aromas of white melon. Made by Mike Weir. Gerard Bertrand Côte des Roses Rosé 2015, Languedoc, Midi A.P., France: Freshness is everything in this wine. Grenache is ideal for rosé because it matures easily and quickly, has vibrant aromatics, yet keeps its zesty acidity for food. This lovely southern French rosé is a blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah grapes. It's elegant, yet full-bodied for rosé and very satisfying. This grape has a short vegetative cycle and yields enough for production while keeping the fresh character. The bottle for this rosé was created in a competition for students at design schools in Paris. Loosen Bros. Dr. L Riesling 2013, Qualitätswein, Mosel, Germany: This is a wow wine year after year, and the 2013 vintage is no exception. Dr Loosen makes superb white wines at many price levels, this one being an entry level offering but it's no entry level wine in the sense of craftsmanship and flavour. Lime and lemon zest almost leap out of the glass, with delicate white floral and peach notes on the palate.
