Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz 2009, South Australia, Australia: Minty blackberry aromas on the nose with great freshness and elegance on the palate. Mouth-filling richness of dark fruit. Great balance and finesse with a long finish. Perfect for dinner parties. Cabernet Sauvignon gives the wine structure and bones, while shiraz gives it roundness and flesh. This wine is matured in barrels that contained the previous vintage of Grange, the winery's flagship wine. This wine keeps great company, and so will you when you share it with friends. Drink: 2013-2018. 309625 14% D 750 mL  $100.00 Score: 94/100. November 9, 2013 Best Beef Wine Full Review

Ruffino Ducale Oro Chianti Classico Riserva 2008, D.O.C.G., Tuscany, Italy: Juicy, nuanced and layered with luxurious dark fruit flavours. Ruffino Ducale Oro Riserva Chianti Classico 2009, Tuscany, Italy: Lovely tanned leather, dried herbs, wild violets and other tertiary aromas that come from age and superb craftsmanship on the nose. Ultra-dry and mouth-watering with supreme balance and complexity. A contemplative wine, suitable for libraries with the classics, or pair it with veal. Drink: 2013-2020. 353201 13.50% XD 750 mL  $49.95 Score: 93/100. November 8, 2014 Top Rated Red Wine. Perfect Pasta and Tomato Sauce Wine Full Review
Kim Crawford Unoaked Chardonnay 2013, Marlborough, Hawke's Bay, East Coast, New Zealand: Fresh and crisp with no oak. Citrus character from Hawke's Bay combines with tropical fruit from Marlborough. Malolactic fermentation with 7 months on the lees to impart richness and creaminess: gives the impression of oak without the heaviness. Butterscotch notes but still ultra-fresh fruit.  Refute the notion of ABC (Anything But Chardonnay), a movement started against Chardonnay for being too heavy: this wine will convince you otherwise. Try it with fresh seafood. Drink: 2014-2017. 991950 14% XD 750 mL  $18.95 Score: 91/100. August 15, 2014 Best Value White Wine. Scrumptious Seafood Wine Full Review
MacMurray Estate Vineyards Pinot Noir 2010, Russian River Valley, Sonoma County, California, United States: Good balance with black cherry aromas and flavours that's not overly sweet. Medium-bodied and smooth and a fair price for this quality, especially for Pinot Nor which is always expensive. This hails from one of California's cool climate regions in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma which creates the balance in the wine from cool nights. Drink: 2014-2018. 48207 13.50% D 750 mL  $27.95 Score: 90/100. July 19, 2014 Voluptuous Veal Wine Full Review
Beringer Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2011, California, United States: A dark horse wine with brooding aromas of black, tarry fruit and toasty oak on the nose. These major notes follow through on the palate and finish of this full-bodied, supple Californian Cabernet, along with some mocha and smoke. Pair with prime rib. Louis M. Martini Cabernet Sauvignon 2011, Napa Valley, California, United States: This blockbuster Californian red wine needs more cellar time: it's just a baby, but a bruiser. Full-bodied, complex and layered with aromas of cassis, blackcurrant, dried herbs, tobacco leaves and cigar box. Decant 1-2 hours and pair with rare filet mignon. Wow.
