This blockbuster Californian red wine needs more cellar time: it's just a baby, but a bruiser. Full-bodied, complex and layered with aromas of cassis, blackcurrant, dried herbs, tobacco leaves and cigar box. Decant 1-2 hours and pair with rare filet mignon. Wow.

Reviews and Ratings

Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Minty blackberry, eacalyptus, with a touch of marshmalllow. Dark, but with a hint of sweetness hiding behind it. The taste is blackberry and blueberry with some firm tannins. A really great all-round wine.
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

What's not to like about a full bodied Cab Sauv from Napa. Louis M. Martini have been making wines for over 75 years and their craftsmanship and experience shines through in this wine. Refined notes of blackberry and cherry layered with oak and cedar. Lovely mouthfeel with a good balance of fruit, tannins and acidity. A prime rib roast with au jus would be the perfect pairing!
Valérie Dufour - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Intense nose of blackberries, violet and spices. This wine is a crowd pleaser. Technically on the spot. Fruit, lenght, intensity.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Blackberry and floral notes on the nose. The palate offers blackberries, blueberries, vanilla and spices.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Blueberry pie on the nose, more on the palate with vanilla, mint and hint of sweet baking spice. soft tannins, long blueberry finish.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Fresh mint, green pepper, along with currant and blackberries on the nose. Warm spice mingled with oak. Spice and currant come through on the palate, along with the freshness of mint. Pronounced tannin, medium to long finish.
Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby/purple with an elegant nose of currant, blueberry, baking spice and notes of herb/eucalyptus. Full bodied and well structured with good acidity, fine grippy tannins and ripe dark cherry/berry/currant fruit, toasty cedar, vanilla and spice. Good value in Napa Cab Sauv to drink over the next five years. Pair with beef tenderloin steaks. Feb 01, 2015
