Near Lake Garda, the centre of northern Italy, an unoaked white wine with 100% Trebbiano di Lugana grapes ( also known as Turbiana). Complex aromas of floral and citrus notes, with exotic and intense fruit on the palate. Pair with herbal cheeses, fish and seafood.

A very rich and structured Chianti at 14.5%, this wine is 80 % Sangiovese, 10 % Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot. Taste of cherry, red fruit, herbs and well balanced oak. Decant or age. Pair with steak, lamb or tomato-based Italian dishes.

A full and rich amarone from a good vintage, Allegrini once again makes an outstanding wine. Fruity and dark cherry at 15.95%, this wine has aging potential. To enjoy with beef, lamb, casseroles and aged cheeses. Aromas and tastes of mature red fruit and sweet spiciness pair with Asian and Middle-Eastern food as well.

A medium-bodied Valpolicella, made in the ripasso method to enhance the flavours of the wine, it open with ripe black fruit aromas, with oak influences of leather and chocolate. Dense fruit to the medium finish, the acidity and tannins are medium as well. Serve with beef or lamb.

A full-bodied Amarone with 70% Corvina, 25% Rondinella and 5% Molinara, this wine has aromas of cherry and spice that continue to the dark fruit and berry palate with some herbal notes. It is well-balanced and has a liquorice-flavoured, dry finish. Decant or age further. Serve with beef, tomato dishes, hard cheeses and dry, smoked meat appetizers. Tasted February 2020.
