Such a treat! Aromas of bruised apple, pear tart, brioche and buttery goodness. On the palate, there are fine bubbles with flavours of lemon, ripe apples, pear, and brioche. It is creamy and completely decadent! Tasted October 2017.

This purple hued Cabernet Sauvignon blend from Napa Valley is beautifully complex and absolutely marvelous! A must buy for me! On the nose, it has loads of ripe blueberry and dark berry aromas, as well as jalapeno, violet, underwood, pot-pourri, and hints of vanilla and chocolate. On the palate, it is full bodied and has structured tannins that are not overpowering, in fact they are perfectly balanced with the acidity and body of this wine. In terms of flavours, juicy blueberries, blackcurrant, hints of wood, subtle notes of black olives and cocoa at the finish. Wow! Tasted January 2018

This full bodied red wine has aromas of raspberry jam, autumn leaves, pot-pourrit, undergrowth, cedar, and a touch of menthol. It is made of 62% Merlot and 38% Cabernet Sauvignon. There are dark berries on the palate as well as earthy qualities. The tannins are well incorporated. This wine will continue to age nicely. Tasted September 2017

Made using the traditional method, this beauty produced from 100% Chardonnay spent an impressive 60 months on its lees. Rich aromas of poached apple, fresh warm baguette, mineral notes, and a nutty finish. It is creamy and opulent on the palate with crisp acidity and many fine bubbles. Flavours of baked apple, warm baked bread, lemon and a nutty finish. It is absolutely delicious! A good dupe for Champagne. Tasted at the Taste Ontario event in April 2019. Wine-Food Pairing: Very versatile and great on its own. Pair with lobster or rich seafood, fried chicken, tempura sushi, fried appetizers, and yes, popcorn!

Among my favourites at the event. A rich, opulent sparkling made from 91% Chardonnay and 9% Pinot Noir. Aromas of baked apple in a rich butter pastry, toasted almonds, lemon, and brioche. Creamy on the palate with many fine bubbles and flavours of lemon and almond with mineral notes. This would pair well with lobster or rich seafood. What a treat! Tasted at the Pure Discovery New Zealand Wine event in Ottawa May 2019.

Current Fav Wine

I love the tartness often associated with cool climate wines. Currently, I am loving Ontario wines, especially Pinot Noir, Cab Franc, and dry Riesling. I have a soft spot for Italian wine. I also love a wide range of sparkling wines, especially those made using the Champenoise method.
