Sean scored this wine: 95/100
Deep garnet with slight bricking at the rim after 11 years, the nose is intense with currant, dark berry, cherry, spice, chocolate, cedar and savory notes with balsamic and oxo cubes. Concentrated and complex with dark cherry, berry, mocha, vanilla, eucalyptus, cedar and spice. Full bodied, rich and silky, the tannins have softened considerably. Ends with a very long and slightly warm finish from the near 15% abv. Better than last bottle several years ago, I suspect this is drinking in peak window now, but should hold several more years. Paired with herb crusted roast beef. Tasted March 2016.
