Brut Prestige

Mumm Napa Brut Prestige Sparkling White

Napa Valley, California, United States

Mary scored this wine: 87/100

This wine is floral with white blossoms on the nose along with peaches, green apple, lemon peel, and white cherries. The mouth is creamy with soft bubbles that dissipate fairly quickly. Though not overly complex and not much acidity on the finish, this is a bright and fruit forward (think apple cider) easy drinking wine that is a great everyday sipper for its price point. Drink alone as an aperitif, or with hors d’oeuvres or with brunch.

Mary scored this wine: 90/100

I found this wine available for $10 and for that price it is and I say outstanding because you can’t really find a better California Chardonnay for that price point (retail between $10-$12/bottle). Very balanced in weight, this wine does a nice job integrating oak, vanilla, toast, with balanced lemon, spice and acidity. Seriously, for $10... Yes please!

Seghesio Family Vineyards Zinfandel 2008

Mary scored this wine: 93/100

One of my favorite Zinfandel producers in California. This wine continues to be great vintage after vintage. Juicy, fruit forward, and full of lush blackberry fruits throughout and simply delicious for the price (typically found anywhere from $24-$30).

Mary scored this wine: 89/100

Deep dark cherry and black berry fruit aromas on the nose with some chocolate, figs, vanilla and spice. On the palate, the boldness of the fruit is still there with some additional spice, evident toast, and a lingering juicy and spicy finish. This is a great value wine that you can drink any day of the week. Food Pairing- Great for grilled meat dishes (steak, ribs, burgers) or just sipping whilst watching your favorite mid-week TV shows.

Brut Rosé

Pierre Sparr Brut Rosé Crémant D'alsace

Mary scored this wine: 91/100

From the cool climate Alsace region of France, this wine is 100% Pinot Noir (one of the only red grapes that grow well in Alsace) made in the champagne method. Strawberry and citrus notes dominate the nose with a touch of sweet biscuit scents. Dry and delicate the palate continues with more strawberry, lemon, and orange peel. Crémants (sparkling wines made in France, but outside of the Champagne region that are made using the méthode champenoise) are incredible values and this is probably the best one I’ve had at this price. I found it on sale for around $11. If you can find it for under $12, get yourself a case (or more)! This wine will put a smile on your face no matter what kind of day you’ve had!
