Pure Vision Wines Zero Shiraz 2021

Adelaide Plains, South Australia, Australia

Pamela scored this wine: 90/100

Pure Vision Wine has created this <0.5% alcohol Shiraz - vintage dated (2021) too - from organic grapes. Pretty cool stuff - aromas of strawberry jam, cherry, oak spice. Expecting a fruit bomb, but no! It’s fresh and juicy on the palate: red cherry, raspberry, hint of mint and a light tannic touch. Great alt beverage to sip on the patio - chill to 10-12 deg C and enjoy!

Ric Red 2021

South Australia, Australia

Pamela scored this wine: 90/100

Ric Red ("Secret Sauce") is a classic GSM blend from South Australia. Bright ruby in the glass. On the nose: ripe, sweet cherry, warm spice, blackberry, light toasty oak. On the palate: more super ripe black cherry, dried currant, spice, licorice and quite a zing of acidity with a slightly charred-bitter, red cherry finish. Very racy, very cool! A superb food wine. Pair with anything on the barbie: burgers, grilled veg, steak etc.

Pamela scored this wine: 93/100

St Hugo x Daniel Ricciardo DR3 is a big, plush, lush South Australia Cabernet Sauvignon Grapes were sourced from Coonawarra ("delightful" says St. Hugo!) On the nose: ripe, juicy black cherry, blueberry, oak spice, whiff of herbs On the palate: full, rounded, ripe fruity mouthfeel, silky but serious tannins, loads of berry-cherry, spice and a hint of eucalyptus and licorice Somewhat racy ;) yet very posh indeed! Enjoy with steak, braised ribs, aged, mellow cheeses, race wins and the like. Decanting recommended.

Pretty pale salmon colour, nose of strawberry, pink grapefruit, red cherry repeats on the palate. Great acidity and nicely balanced with a medium length finish. Very refreshing! Enjoy with grilled chicken, salads, veggie burgers etc. Tasted March 2022

La Carbonera Las Pisadas

Torres La Carbonera Las Pisadas 2016

Rioja D.O.C.A., Spain

Impressive at the price - a velvety-rich Rioja that will benefit from another year or two in the cellar (umm, basement chez moi) Notes of dried dark berry, licorice, leather and spice woven with savoury/herb aromas. Finish is medium-long, suggesting wild black raspberry. Definitely a steak-loving wine! Tasted March 2022
