Juicy, robust and vibrant: a terrific wine especially at this price point. Aromas of black fleshy ripe blackberries, black plums and some dark spice. Almost reminds me of Californian Zinfandel but with a darker undertone. Perfect for grilled meats and barbecue.

Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso food pairings: hearty winter stew, turkey burgers, pasta with a cream based sauce.

Perhaps the nicest Ripasso buy I've seen in a year. Lovely nose of medium intensity. Palate is splendid. Rich, ripe and modern black fruilt. A hint of sweetness with lingering power. Buy more than one.
This big Italian red wine is made using the Ripasso technique, a traditional winemaking practice, that involves re-fermenting (re-passing) the Valpolicella wine over the dried Amarone grapes to increase flavour concentration, weight and body. - Community Wine Reviews
