Remo Farina Ripasso Valpolicella Classico is a juicy, vibrant full-on Italian red wine with mocha flavours from generous oak aging. Lots of black fruit, plums and spice and perfect for the grilled fare. The wine has great balance and structure and is a red wine blend of 50% Corvina, 15% Corvinone, 20% Rondinella, 5% Molinara and 10% Oseleta. Juicy, robust and vibrant Italian: a terrific wine especially at this price point. Aromas of black fleshy ripe blackberries, black plums and some dark spice. Almost reminds me of Californian Zinfandel but with a darker undertone. Perfect for grilled lamb.

This medium body Ripasso is a rich ruby hue in the glass. The nose is delightfully spicy with cinnamon and pepper. The palate is silky and smooth with lots of cherry and spice. Well balanced with very fine tannins. Very easy to enjoy on its own or with Italian cheeses, pastas or pizza. Finish is medium length and pleasant. Tasted January 2019
